Under the French EPR schemes, producers that incorporate recycled plastic receive a bonus (prime) on their eco-contribution. Collection, sorting, recycling and incorporation must take place within 1,500 km of the barycentre of metropolitan France, in an EU country or a third country with equivalent standards.

    The ministry's FAQ on the bonus (April 2026) sets out three bonus levels per tonne of recycled plastic incorporated: EUR 450, EUR 550, and EUR 550 in 2026–2027 rising to EUR 1,000 from 2028.
